The Atlantic Cardiovascular Society is a new organization with unique intentions. Formed by a core group of cardiovascular practitioners throughout the Atlantic Provinces; its focus will be health issues unique to Atlantic Canada.

The Annapolis Valley provided a beautiful backdrop for the 2012 ACS Annual General Meeting held in July. This year’s format deviated from previous years in that presentations’ were designed to provoke thought and spur debate on how ever diminishing cardiovascular resources can be delivered with maximal impact.
The primary goal of the Atlantic Anti-Platelet Initiative (AAPI) was to develop evidence- based guidelines for the acute administration of oral anti-platelet therapy in patients presenting with ACS in Atlantic Canada.
